Kow Yokoyama Ma.K. Sketchbook, Vol.1 , K. Yokoyama
Dainippon-Kaiga, Japan, 2006
~200pp, b/w illustrations throughout

In the 1980s, Japanese concept artist and master model, Kow Yokoyama, introduced the Ma.K (Maschinen Krieger) world. Part Road Warrior, part Panzer Corps, the Ma.K. world begins in the 2800s, with competing global governments fielding hover tanks, armored fighting suits, and heavily armored hovercraft in pitch battles across a dusty, dystopian landscape.
The Nitto company first produced several very nice model kits and numerous resin garage kits keeping the modelers happy. After years of licensing disputes, the Hasegawa company obtained model production rights and are now offering a growing line of high quality Ma.K. kits. Oddly, there doesn’t seem to be an official Ma.K website, but this link will show some of the nice models that can be built
from this popular series.
